The Rapture The Fundamentalist Christian doctrine of "the Rapture" is linked as an event within apocalyptic narratives to the Resurrection of the righteous dead. The same verses, I Corinthians 15:52 and I Thess. 4:14-18 , that provide Fundamentalist rhetors with the Rapture doctrine are the same ones which teach the Resurrection and posit the Resurrection as a basis for Christian hope.
