|Netschaton is an examination of
faith systems, Internet technologies, narrative data exchanges, and digital imaging
techniques as these relate to the practice of apocalyptic communication on the Web.
The Netschaton website does not advocate or proselytize for apocalyptic events, nor does it deny that they will one day happen. That is, it is not an apocalyptic vision nor a debunking of apocalyptic vision. Rather, it seeks to understand how media programmers, especially apocalypticists, format data into hierarchies. and derive narrative meaning.
The beliefs we examine in Netschaton may serve as warnings to us, however, to be careful what we users of media believe and how we react to events real, mediated, and hoped for. Author
